The Tree Tumbles….

Our beloved tree had to be taken down the other day.  It developed a crack about 10 inches deep and 15 feet long.  Rather than have it fall on the lodge or a lodge guest, we decided to have it taken down.  Generations of families have taken family photos  on and around our friend.  It will be missed….

  1. There has been a lot of loss at the Jolli. Keeping you in thoughts and prayers.

  2. Oh, dear. What a loss! I am glad to know of it before seeing it in person next week. Still, I’m sure it’s a startling change.

  3. Greg, Jess sent us the link…I don’t know how many pictures we have of the sunset framed by that old tree, truly a different view going forward… all the best Phil and Sherry

  4. Greg and family, I have a picture of the sunset framed by that tree from 20 years ago in my office. Will miss that view. Cousin Jim & Nancy

  5. You really know what to do with a camera! Have you ever thought of putting some photos together and sending them to a publisher? You really should. So sad this good ol’ tree is gone but I’m happy it’s in a number of my photos.
Congratulations to you and your new bride. Ain’t love grand!!

  6. ,I’m so sad to see the end of life for that beautiful tree. she was such a beauty and she will live on in some of our photos forever! You take such great photos. You are able to catch the feeling of the North’s beauty and magic. Maybe you could put together a Leelanau calendar or something.
